Guides for a Deeper,
More Conscious Mediation Practice
This course is led by two practitioners devoted to elevating mediation through neuroscience, presence, and embodied learning.
Together, Erika Deines and Marion Berard integrate decades of experience, multidisciplinary knowledge to help mediators develop a deeper awareness and a more intuitive, grounded practice.
Erika Deines
Chartered Mediator,
Neuro-Change
Master Practitioner

With over two decades of experience across diverse sectors, Erika brings a rare blend of scholarship, professional expertise, and compassion to the field of conflict resolution. Her background spans Justice Studies, Business Administration, Neuroscience of Leadership, Professional Coaching, and advanced certifications in mediation, conflict management, workplace fairness, and communication profiling. She is a Certified Practitioner and a Master Trainer from the Neuro-Change Institute.

A Chartered Mediator and seasoned multi-party facilitator, Erika has worked with clients in business disputes, employment matters, family enterprise transitions, municipal and regulatory issues, and landowner–energy negotiations. She has shaped the field from within: coordinating civil court mediation programs, directing education for the ADR Institute of Alberta, advising the Alberta Energy Regulator, teaching at universities and institutes, and co-creating the national mediation program for the ADR Institute of Canada.

Her approach combines neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology, making her uniquely suited to guide participants through their awakening path. Her PACE Conflict Coaching program, internationally published, reflects her commitment to sustainable, psychologically healthy workplaces and to developing practitioners with both competence and presence.

In this course, Erika offers her clarity, depth, and integrated framework to help mediators step into more conscious, intentional practice.

In this course, she brings connection, embodiment, and intuitive insight to support each participant’s growth.
Together:
A Transformative
Learning Experience

Erika and Marion share a vision of mediation that moves beyond techniques and into who a mediator becomes. Their combined expertise creates a learning environment that is:

-
grounded in neuroscience and belief revision,
-
strengthened by neuroplasticity-driven practices,
-
deepened through subconscious integration,
-
and enriched through embodied, nature-based work like cross-country skiing.
They designed this retreat for mediators ready to evolve — those seeking clarity, presence, and a more intuitive way of navigating conflict.
Together, Erika’s rigor and depth meet Marion’s embodiment and connection, creating a powerful, holistic, transformative experience.
